Real Estate Tip of the Week: Crafting Your Agent Bio
Let’s get down to brass tacks here: being a real estate agent is tough work. You’re trying to stand out from the crowd and showcase how you can be the ultimate choice for a potential client.
When clients are shopping around for an agent, they’re looking for someone that specializes in what they are looking for. So – how can you set yourself apart?
A great place to begin is your bio. Yes, your bio.
This is what will separate you from the rest of the pack – your bio on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, or a blog profile can really make a big impact towards the audience you’re trying to reach.
Here are some quick tips to edit your bio:
Beginning
Potential clients want to know what brought you to the industry and why you’re here. Talk about how long you’ve been helping clients and some goals you’ve accomplished during your time as an agent.
Plan of Action
You shouldn’t just be talking about yourself – you should also be describing why you’ll be the best agent for them. Don’t be global here; it’s important to be specific to the area and really hone in on their potential needs.
What do you love about your work? Who are the clients you want to help? What are you goals as an agent? List the types of clients you’ve helped before in the past – were they retirees? First-time homebuyers? Newlyweds?
Showcase YOU
Clients don’t want to feel intimidated when they work with an agent – they want to work with someone they are comfortable with and find relatable. Talk about something quirky or unique about you! Maybe talk about your favorite sports team, your favorite hobby outside of work, or fun traveling experiences.. Show potential clients that you are more than an agent – you’re someone they can connect with as they go on to purchase their dream home.
