A Home Shopper’s Definition of “Move-In Ready”

If you’re in the market to shop for a home, what would you consider to be “move-in ready”?

Surprisingly, this phrase might mean something else entirely to the next home shopper.

Bungalo, a real estate platform, released a survey that asked 550 home shoppers between the ages of 25 to 54 what elements of a home upgrade they considered “move-in ready”.

Here are the features of what a “move-in ready” home should have, according to surveyors:

  • Freshly painted – 58%
  • New flooring- 55%
  • New countertops – 54%
  • Updated cabinetry – 51%
  • Modern finishes – 51%
  • Modern light fixtures – 49%
  • Blinds included – 45%
  • Renovated master bath – 45%
  • Furnished fridge – 34%
  • Furnished washer & dryer – 32%

If you’re thinking about including “move-in ready” to your listing description, you might want to think about making sure your home has some of these upgraded features.
