Marriage vs. Homeownership: Consumers Are Picking the Latter
First comes love, then comes – keys to a home?
According to a recent survey released by Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC, 82% of unmarried Americans would rather invest in a home than pay for an expensive wedding.
With the average marriage age being 32 years old, it’s no surprise that younger (and older) Americans are striving for a home before putting a ring on it. The survey also showed that 45% of respondents aged 18-44 were more likely to say a home was the most important financial goal for them.

Being a homeowner is a big financial goal for renter as well. 47% of respondents are trying to earn their way from being a renter to a homeowner.
