Real Estate Tip of the Week: Get the Best Listing Photos

Although we’ve been taught to not judge a book by its cover – homebuyers are unfortunately going to make an immediate judgment when they view a home.

With 51% of all buyers finding a home through the internet, it’s critical for a listing to show all its best angles!

Here’s a quick guide to help your client present their home in the best light!

Clean, Clean, Clean

A no brainer – but be sure to instruct your client to complete a thorough clean before snapping photos. Don’t forget floor coverings, walls, or even a spot on the living room rug!

Rearrange

Removing furniture (one or two pieces) can make your space appear larger on screen. Set up a focal point on the furthest wall from the doorway and arrange your furniture pieces to make a triangular shape. The shape of a triangle on camera introduces stability and harmony to an image.

Textures

After cleaning and rearranging, think about adding different elements to your photo. Varying heights can add great texture to your listing photos – a tall lamp, a plant, and a coffee table all add multiple heights that can help add a new element to a photo.

No Surprises

Potential homebuyers are expecting to see the home they saw online – try to keep it that way!
