Community Spotlight – Prineville, Oregon

Nestled at the eastern edge of Central Oregon, and in the heart of the Crooked River Caldera, you’ll find our new community spotlight, Prineville!

Founded in 1870, it is the oldest city in the region. Today, Prineville has a population of 10,429 and is the seat of Crook County. Prineville offers many amenities including the Painted Hills, Crooked River Scenic Drive, and Prineville Reservoir. There are plenty of outdoor recreation opportunities between these locations and the rest of the area, from hiking and biking to fishing and camping. Prineville is well known for the Crooked River Roundup which includes horse races and a rodeo. Every year the roundup raises and donates as much as they can to central Oregon community programs. You can also find high-quality food, golf destinations, and the Bowman Museum in Prineville.
