Realtors, it’s time to get real on TikTok
Video marketing – whether we’re talking virtual home tours or engaging social media content – is here to stay. While both Facebook and Instagram are great places to post short videos to reach your audience, this message is all about TikTok.
Yes, we’ve been hearing about this platform for years, but now is the time to explore this space in depth. Consider these stats from Realtor Magazine.
- Nearly 50 percent of TikTok users are between 18 and 31.
- 90 percent of users open the app at least once a day.
- TikTok has the highest engagement rate (18 percent) of any social media platform. That number is five times higher than Instagram and 10 times more than Facebook.
Just listen to this advice from Ohio Realtor and avid TikTok user Heather Haase (@daytonrealestatedarling), on how to engage with audiences on the platform. “If you put your logo on everything, you won’t get a lot of interaction,” she said. “Make it relatable and fun. And offering education for your community is a great way to encourage people to reach out to you.”
In addition to her own account, Haase recommended other popular real estate accounts such as @mortgages.are.boring, @the.mortgage.mentor and @itsthatrealestatechick as people who are making real estate relatable on TikTok. Finally, getting started as a content creator is probably easier than you think.
“Just post one video,” she said, “Make a video about yourself, who you are, and what you do—your town, your niche. Help us get to know you.”
