AmeriTitle Super Star – Cindy Schafler

We have a new AmeriTitle Super Star! Let’s give a big shout out to Cindy Schafler!

Cindy is an Assistant Vice President & Corporate Escrow Administrator for AmeriTitle’s Corporate Office in Bend, OR. This May marked Cindy’s 39th anniversary with the company. She started as an Escrow Officer and Branch Manager for several years, then was promoted to General Manager for Deschutes County for 19 years. Cindy joined the Corporate Escrow Division in 2016 where she enjoys making a difference for others with her help and guidance. Cindy adds, “On a daily basis, I help troubleshoot for our escrow teams and provide direction in handling difficult transactions and/or fixing issues on their files.”

As Assistant Vice President and Corporate Escrow Administrator, Cindy wears multiple hats and has many responsibilities. She explains, “I help provide escrow guidance for our entire escrow staff throughout AmeriTitle, including training and webinars for escrow.” Overseeing compliance regarding our Best Practices as it relates to escrow file audits, escrow rate audits, outstanding checks, trial balance and 1099 exceptions, as well as advising escrow on how to handle difficult files, are two more tasks that make up large parts of her job.

When asked who she admires most, Cindy’s dad comes to mind. He worked long 14 to 16 hour days while she was growing up to provide for his family and later in life, he struggled with Parkinson’s for over 20 years. Cindy goes on, “No matter what struggles he had, he always had a smile on his face and he never let his disease affect his positive attitude. He passed away in 2019, but he instilled in me the importance of going through life with a positive outlook and I will forever be grateful for that.”

Outside of work, Cindy loves boating, fishing, golfing, traveling, and working on puzzles. She recently joined a table tennis club, which is another favorite activity of hers.

“Leave nothing for tomorrow which can be done today,” is Cindy’s favorite quote. She says, “It is so important in our career to be proactive and take care of what needs to be done without procrastinating. I try to take care of the difficult tasks first, which helps keep my mind clear so that I can be more organized and productive.” We admire your mindset Cindy!

Now that you’ve gotten to know Cindy a little more, give a shout out to AmeriTitle’s Corporate Bend branch on Facebook and write them in on your next transaction! Cindy looks forward to helping make your home closing a simple and smooth experience.
