‘Ask’ and two other ways to get more online reviews
The importance of online reviews for those of us in real estate is something we’ve written about before. However, given the current market and how we’re all trying to up our game this summer, we thought it would be a good idea to revisit just how these customer testimonials strengthen old business and can also help you bring in new clients.
But the question becomes, “How can you get happy clients to give you a review now?” That’s why we’ve come up with a few strategies you can implement to increase your chances of getting some kind words you can share during future marketing campaigns, no matter how long it has been since you worked with that person.
Here is a short list of tips for getting more online reviews
- Simply ask. We know. Sounds so easy, but it’s important to be honest and upfront with your clients. Explain how important online reviews are for your business and how valuable sharing their experience would be to you. This can be done anytime throughout the process of working with the client – or as it would be in this situation – well after their deal was closed.
- Use social media. Reach out to people you know who loved working with you via social media. You can send them a link to leave a review or a friendly reminder to say some things about you on Facebook or Google. Staying active on social media shows your clients that you are just like them, giving them a glimpse of who you are beyond work. All of this can be very beneficial when asking for a review.
- Follow up. No matter what services you’ve provided, be sure to follow up after the job is done. This is a good way to show them that you really care and it keeps you fresh in their minds. This is also the perfect time to ask for that review. Just be sure not to be pushy about getting them to leave a review, keep it light-hearted but remind them how much it means to you to get that review.
As you ask more and more clients for reviews you will find the techniques that work best for you. These tips are just a good base to start from. The last piece of advice? Remember, every client or partner is a potential reviewer of your work. We know we work with some of the best professionals in the business. You always give it your best effort when it comes to your work so the positive testimonials are sure to start rolling in.
