And the award goes to… YOU for focusing on video this season
Happy Oscars Week! As an award-winning title company in several communities we serve, AmeriTitle thought we’d use the occasion to share more video tips with all our real estate friends. It’s a topic we’ve written about in the past, but we thought it was time for a sequel.
Why? Videos featuring you or your time remain among the best ways to give customers – and future clients – a glimpse of who you are behind the scenes, or to reinforce why they should pick you as their local property expert. Of course, talking in front of a camera can feel uncomfortable at first. The good news is that confidence grows with practice. Here are a few more simple strategies for you!
Be human. You don’t need to be picture perfect. In fact, perfection can feel impersonal. A candid moment makes you relatable, and people tend to connect with authenticity more than anything else. When viewers see the real you, they’re more likely to trust you with big life decisions.
Be prepared. There’s a difference between not worrying about mistakes and mailing it in. Don’t do the latter. After all, the purpose of these video campaigns is to spotlight your local knowledge and expertise. Being ready with a script or outline ensures that everything you know will shine through on camera. Don’t be afraid to shoutout other local resources, too.
Keep it simple. When creating a video, focus on one topic and give easy takeaways. Trying to cover too much information at once can make your message harder to follow and more difficult to deliver confidently. Short-form still dominates on social media – and everywhere else – when it comes to engagement.
Just do it. Thank you, Nike, for the inspiration. The key to any successful habit is getting started and sticking with it. The more often you record and post videos, the more comfortable you’ll become. Your future clients aren’t looking for the perfect spokesperson; they’re looking for a knowledgeable, trustworthy REALTOR®, loan officer or other key transaction professional. Show up consistently, and they will find you!
The final takeaway should be that you don’t need a production crew or a perfect script to build your video marketing efforts. With time, confidence will grow and so will your relationships! To those who are already Academy-level creators, we’d love to hear your tips next time you’re around an AmeriTitle closing table. Contact your local branch anytime. We’re always here to be your top title producer!
