Since the world has been focused on soccer lately, the AmeriTitle team wanted to join in on the fun. That’s why we thought we’d explain how a title company like ours fits every position out on the “pitch.”

In case you aren’t watching the action as closely as we do, here’s what you need to know for this blog to make sense. In soccer, the main positions are forwards, midfielders, defenders and the goalkeeper. So, how do these players fit the title world? Indulge us for a minute.

Forwards: The first touch with customers. Forwards are the players fans notice first. Lionel Messi. Harry Kane. Kylian Mbappé. All world-famous forwards. They take action to create opportunities for themselves and others. For us, that sounds a lot like our Business Development Representatives, who are often the first point of contact for buyers, sellers, lenders and our wonderful real estate partners.

Whether it’s answering an early question about title insurance, volunteering in the community or building connections on behalf of the AmeriTitle brand, these professionals work toward one goal: showcasing why AmeriTitle should be everyone’s choice for title and settlement services.

Midfielders: The connectors who keep things flowing. A midfielder does a little bit of everything. They connect the defense to the attack, move the ball into the right spaces and keep the whole team organized. That description fits most of our escrow professionals well.

Escrow is often where so many moving pieces come together. Instructions, documents, funds, signatures, timelines, lender needs, agent questions and client expectations all need to be coordinated carefully. A great escrow professional keeps the transaction balanced, communicates clearly and helps everyone know where the ball is headed next.

Defenders: The title experts protecting the transaction. Defenders may not always get the loudest cheers, but every winning team needs them. Their job is to anticipate problems, clear danger and protect the goal. In our business, that role belongs to the title professionals who search public records, review ownership history and identify issues that need to be addressed before closing. Our branches’ title teams help defend the transaction by bringing these matters to light early and working with the right partners to find solutions. The fact that a good defensive play in soccer is called “clearing the ball from danger” further illustrates this comparison.

Goalkeeper: The final line of confidence. The easy analogy would be to call the goalkeeper our Closing Day team, always ready to shine in the big moment. But we have a better analogy: Think about the keeper as your final fraud protector. Not all fraud attempts are a real threat (though you should always stay aware), and not all shots are on goal, but when it comes dangerously close to hitting home, you want a seasoned pro ready to catch it and punch it away. That’s why, as much as we preach fraud protection as a team effort, we know our customers and their clients trust us to guard against anything that slips through even the strongest defenses.

Here’s one last note on how we work. As part of a regional title and escrow leader, your local AmeriTitle branch has access to many colleagues who specialize in specific issues or transaction types and are always ready to join the action. Talk about a group of super subs!

Thank you for choosing us to be part of your transaction team. We’re always ready to do our part to score for our customers and their clients. From the first pass to the final whistle in extra time, our goal is always to create a closing experience worth celebrating.
