Social Media isn’t a One-Way Street

For all of us in real estate, social media has become more and more important when reaching new clients and interacting with partners and friends. Using it to elevate your game and show off your expertise will help engage customers and grow your brand. No matter which platforms (yes, that should be plural) you’re on, these tips will help.

Show some personality

Yes, you should be using social media to sell what you do and how you do it, but it’s not a one-way street. Customers want to know the person they are working with can be trusted and is reliable with a great reputation. Revealing your personality will give your clients an opportunity to get to know you and develop a personal connection with you.

Use video

Videos are captivating. A photo can’t quite stir up an emotional connection in a buyer, but a video may be able to. If you want to catch the attention of a potential homebuyer and stop the scroll, video is what does it. Bonus tip: Don’t worry that your videos aren’t professional quality. Your audience will appreciate the authenticity.

Don’t skip out on asking for reviews

Whether it’s online or in person, the best time to ask your customers for a positive recommendation is during a friendly conversation. Reach out to those who interact with you the most and ask them to share why you are an expert in your field. Then, use your social media microphone to amplify those kind words back to your audience.

The bottom line is to focus on the social part of “social media,” and use it to your advantage. We know we work with some of the best professionals in the business. Use Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, as well as other platforms to ensure others know that, too!
